He's not about to take him to the water's edge, and he wants to show off what's in the lake. Once the mogwai is safely inside, he leads the way down the little path just a short walk to the shore.]

[Along with not knowing what these look like, he also doesn't know how to pronounce what they're called. And there is indeed a relatively platypus looking animal out there swimming, though it's clearly simply a beaver with a bright yellow duck's bill.]
